three thousand, five hundred and seventy two.

Three tells you how many thousands there are. 3 is the thousands digit.
Five tells you how many hundreds there are, 5 is the hundreds digit.
Seven tells you how many tens there are. 7 is the tens digit.
Two tells you how many ones or units there are. 2 is the units digit.
