f(x) = x2 + 1; g(x) = x2 - 1

find
a) ((f+g) of h)) (x)
b) ((f-g) of h)) (x)
c) ((f of h) - (g of h)) (x)

Hi Jackie,

I'm not sure if I understand what you are asking. I am confused by the term "of h". If part a) is to find (f+g)(x) then the answer is

(f+g)(x)
= f(x) + g(x)
= (x2 + 1) + (x2 - 1)
= x2 + 1 + x2 - 1
= 2 x2

Does this help?
