A parking lot has 4 aisles. Each aisle is about 40 yards long and has parking places on both sides. If a parking place is 3 yards wide, how many cars can the parking lot hold?

Hi,

Each parking space is 3 yards wide and 3x13 = 39, so there seem to be 13 parking spaces down one side of each 40 yard aisle. Thus there are 2x13 = 26 parking spaces down each aisle if you count both sides. Since there are 4 aisles, there are 4x26 = 104 parking spaces in total.

I hope this helps,
Penny
