In the Math rule BEDMAS does it matter if you do the division or the multiplication first? This question is a grade 7 question and it is asked by an aunt of a grade 7 student. Hi Monica,No it doesn't matter if you multiply of divide first. The reason essentially is that dividing by four is the same as multiplying by one-quarter. Cheers,Penny
