I am a middle school teacher beginning to adapt to the new Quebec reform. I am regularely doing projects in écologie and géographie in French immersion based on the international schools way of thinking (What form does it have? How does it work? What is its history? How does it change? How is it linking to our lives? What is our responsibility about that fact or that thing?) and I have real difficulty to make it work for math. So now, I am looking for math concepts (8) which would link to the same way of thinking. What are your suggestions?

Je ne suis pas tellement au courant du contenu de la réforme, et du matériel disponible. Par contre, il existe une documentation substantielle au sujet des réformes radicales dans l'enseignement des mathématiques (en particulier au site http://mathematicallycorrect.com/). Assez souvent, ces réformes confondent les professeurs et les étudiants, et ne produisent pas les résultats désirés. Donc, ma suggestion serait de plutôt continuer a enseigner ce que vous savez et qui a bien fonctionn\'e par le passé, et de vous contenter de légères incursions vers l'histoire et les applications (le site MacTutor http://www-groups.dcs.st-and.ac.uk:80/~history/index.html est excellent pour l'histoire).
