Here you have a mistake, you should get 2sin^{2}(x)  1 = 0

rather than cos(2x) = 2cos(x) (which is false in general),
you should use the identity
cos(2x) = cos^{2}(x)  sin^{2}(x) =

In 1) you solved cosy=1/2 Anwser y = 60,300.
Therefore for cos(2x30)=1/2 you get the answer 2x+30 = 60, 300.
