Question:
Meg's biscuits recipe calls for 4 cups of flour for every 1.5 cups of milk. If Meg uses 6 cups of flour, how many cups of milk will she need?

Hi Tami,

Forget that this is a math problem and think about what you would do if faced with this problem. You have already added 4 cups of flour and 1.5 cups of milk. To get to 6 cups of flour you add 2 more cups, that is half of what you have already included. To keep the same ratio of flour to milk you need to add half as much milk as is already in the mixture. Half of 1.5 cups is 0.75 cups so the total amount of milk is (1.5 + 0.75) cups.

Cheers,
Penny
