I am trying to help my 8th grade son with Transformations - use of patttern blocks. He has to trace a figure and reflect it across the x-axis, which I can do, but then it indicates include ordered pairs - that confuses me.

Hi Cheryl,
I expect that what the teacher wants is for you to put
coordinates on the vertices of the pattern block and then see what happens
to these coordinates when you reflect the shape. For example I drew the
blue rhombus (I expect that your pattern blocks are the same colour as
mine) and put coordinates on two of the vertices. I just made up coordinates
as I am not sure how you are to arrive at coordinates.
The red rhombus is the reflected shape and the coordinates have changed. Every point reflects to a point with the same X-coordinate, but the Y-coordinate has changed sign. I hope this helps,
