I too have a 4th grader and the word (Flims) came up in her summer text, My name is Dan. As this is a question that alot of adults will have would you also post the answer on your site. Thanks much.



Hi Dan,

The only place that I have seen the word flim is in the term flim-flam. My American College Dictionary has

flim-flam
  1. a piece of nonsense; mere nonsense.

  2. a trick or deception; humbug.
 The Oxford English Dictionare has a similar entry for flim-flam but it also has an entry for flim flim
  • A £5 note.
