Quandaries and Queries

Name: Jennifer

Question:
Suppose five pumpkins are weighed two at a time in all possible ways. The weights in pounds are recorded as 16, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 26, and 27. How much does each individual pumpkin weigh. NO FRACTIONS!

I am stumped on this one, I think I am close but I am just having a tough time. Please help!

Hi Jennifer,

We received a similar question some time ago about weighing bales of hay. Maybe the response Harley gave to that question will help.
