Question: I need to know how many litres in a 12 foot diameter, 3 foot deep pool? Any help much appreciated as I need to add the correct amount of chemicals

Hi,

The area of a circle is pi times the square of the diameter, where pi is approximately 3.14. Hence the surface area of your pool is

pi r2 = 3.14 62 = 113.1 square feet Since the depth is 3 feet the volume is 113.10 3 = 339.3 cubic feet.

One cubic foot is approximately 28.3 liters so the number of liters of water in your pool is

339.3 28 = 9608

Cheers,
Penny
