well i need to simplify this problems out and i cant do it so here is one

3x^2+6x-45
------------ =
3x^2+21x+30

Hi,

First you should factor the numerator and denominator separately and then see if there is any cancellation. First the numerator,

3x 2 + 6x - 45 = 3(x 2 + 2x - 15) = 3(x + 5)(x - 3) and then the denominator 3x 2 + 21x + 30 = 3(x 2 + 7x + 10) = 3(x + 5)(x + 2)

Putting the numerator and denominator together I get

The 3 in the numerator and denominator cancel and, as long as x is not -5, the term (x + 5) in the numerator and denominator cancel giving

I hope this helps,
Penny
