Logarithms appear in many applications. We have listed a few such applications in "Real-World" Application for Specific Mathematical Topics the answer to a similar question we received a while ago. Also in our database is a question by a science teacher who needed to calculate the discharge rate of a capacitor, a calculation that involves logarithms.
