Question:
how do you find the median of this group of numbers:63,75,29,37,49?

Hi Christine,

First sort the numbers in numerical order

29, 37, 49, 63, 75 and then find the number in the middle 29, 37, 49, 63, 75 That's the median, 49.

The obvious question is, "what if there are an even number of numbers?" For example what is you are to find the median of 63,75,29,37,49,52?

Sort them in numerical order

29, 37, 49, 52, 63, 75 locate the middle two 29, 37, 49, 52, 63, 75 and take their average  49 + 52/2 = 50.5 The median of 63,75,29,37,49,52 is 50.5
