F = (9 C)/5 + 32 I would first multiply both sides by 5 to eliminate the fraction. 5 F = 5  (9 C)/5 + 5 32
5 F = 9 C + 5 32 Now subtract 5 32 from each side 5 F - 5 32 = 9 C
5 (F - 32) = 9 C Finally divide both sides by 9 to get  5/9 (F - 32) = C
