if egg A weighed 55.4g and after 2 days it weighed 60.9g how could i calculate the percentage change in weight?
Hi Lauren,
The egg gained 60.9 - 55.4 = 5.5g. Usually when we use the term percentage change we mean the change, as a percent of the starting value. Your starting value is 55.4g and the change is 5.5g and hence the change, as a proportion of the starting value is
5.5/55.4 = 0.099
To express this as a percentage, multiply by 100 to get a percentage change of 9.9%.
