If I have 3 acres and the front is 300 ft across how many feet would I go down the sides to equal 3 acres?
 

 

Hi Billy,

One acre is 43,560 square feet so three acres is 130,680 square feet. If your lot is rectangular, that is all four corners are right angles and the length of the side is x feet then the area is

300 x square feet.

Thus

300 x = 130,680

and hence

x = 130,680/300 = 435.6 feet
