I would like to know how to find the volume of the Earth in gallons. For example, if the Earth was paper thin, how many gallons of water could go inside? Thank you for your help.

Hi Daniel,

This is going to be a big number.

The volume of a shpere is

 4/3 r3

and the radius of the Earth is 3963 miles so the volume is

 4/3 39633 cubic miles.

There are 5280 feet in a mile and 12 inches in a foot so this is

4/3 39633 52803 123cubic inches.

There are 231 cubic inches in a gallon so finally the volume of the Earth is

 (4/3 39633 52803 123)/231 gallons.
