Hi My name is Liz. I'm a student and the level of my question is grade level 11th. The question is :
A television antenna sits on a roof. Two 76-foot guy wires are positioned on opposite sides of the antenna. The angle of elevation each makes with the ground is 24 degrees. How far apart are the ends of the two guys wires?

In my diagram the length of the guy wire AC is 76 feet and B is the point on the groung directly below the antenna. Since the angle BCA is 24 degrees,
cos(24o) = |BC|/|CA| = |BC|/76
Solve for |BC|.
