I need to calculate the volume of soil needed to fill a planter box that measures - 880mm W x 6080mm L x 900mm D. Could you please show me how to calculate this problem -

Regards Phil.

Hi Phil,

One meter is 1000 mm and each of your dimensions is close to a thousand or more, so I would first divide each dimension by 1000 to convert them to meters. Thus your planter is

0.880 m by 6.080 m by 0.900 m

Hence the volume is

0.880 6.080 0.900 = 4.825 cubic meters.
