Im trying to figure out the amount of gallons from a rectangle 48x20x12?
It's for an aquarium. Thanks so much!!!!!!!!!!!!
 

 

Hi Selena,

I assume that the units of your measurements are inches. My dictionare says there are 231 cubic inches is one gallon so I need to calculate the volume of the aquarium in cubic inches.

Since the units of measurement are inches the volume is

48 20 12 = 11520 cubic inches

Hence the volume can also be expressed as

11520/231 = 49.87 gallons.
