How many cubic feet or yards of dirt would be required to cover a 5 acre tract of land to a depth of 10 feet of compacted dirt?

Hi Stephen,

One acre is 43,560 square feet and there are 3 feet in a yard so 5 acres is

5  43,560/3 3 = 24,200 square yards.

A depth of 10 feet is 10/3 yards and hence you need

24,200  10/3 = 80,667 cubic yards.

I don't know how much that would compact. I am sure it depends on the type of dirt you are using.
