Solve:
1. 3/10k - 1 = 1/2
2. 7 3/4 = 3/8h + 6
3. About how heavy should an object be before you start to measure the object in tons instead of pounds? Explain

Hi,

I'll do question 2 to show you how to get started. I am reading this as

3/43/8h + 6

First I would write the left side as one fraction. 7 is 28 over 4 so

3/43/8h + 6
 31/43/8h + 6

Now, to eliminate the fractions, I would multiply both sides by 8h

 31/43/8h + 6
 8h ( 31/4 ) = 8h 3/8h + 6)
62 h = 3 + 48 h

Finally, subtracting 48h from each sides gives

62 h = 3 + 48 h
62 h - 48 h = 3 + 48 h - 48 h
14 h = 3
h = 3/14
