Hello, I am a student a Macon state college. I took a pre alg test today. There was a question on it that I am not sure and is bothering me. Can you tell me the answer?



x square + 13 + 14

Hi Ginger,

I think dropped an x and you must mean

x2 + 13x + 14

This doesn't really help however. If the signs were different it would factor

x2 + 13x - 14 = (x + 14)( x - 1) or
x2 - 13x - 14 = (x - 14)(x + 1)

But as it stands, x2 + 13x + 14 doesn't factor.
