Question from Ade, a student:

If log 3 = 0.477 . The answer of log 0.81

Hi Ade,

This exercise is practice in using the properties of the logarithm functions

log(p × q) = log(p) + log(q)
log(p/q) = log(p) - log(q)
log(pq) = q × log(p)

What you need to see here is that 81 = 34 and hence 0.81 = 81 × 10-2 = 34 × 10-2

Can you complete the problem now?
