Hi Dawn. The fraction would start as 59 / 231. Now you need to find common factors of these numbers so you can reduce it to lowest terms. So what goes into 59? Nothing but 1 and 59, it is a prime number, so But what if you used cents instead of dollars? 5900 / 231 is 59 x 100 which is 59 x 2 x 2 x 5 x 5. So does a 2 or a 5 go into 231?
