Question from EDWIN, a student:

this doesnt make any sense to me....... i cant find the pattern...

We have two rsponses for you

Hi Edwin. Try alternating between two operations.

For example:
1,-4,16,11,121,116...
is -5 alternating with squared:
1-5 = -4.
-4^2 = 16
16-5 = 11
11^2 = 121
etc.

Your pattern is the same kind of thing.
Stephen.

Hi Edwin,
There is not a single pattern to follow here, its two patterns in one:
- take the first number (2) and triple it to get the next number (6)
- take this number (6) and add 1 to get (7)

Repeat over and over....

Hope this helps,
Leeanne
