Question from Graham: I have an elipse that I need to find the circumference of. It is 40ft at its longest point and 25ft at its shortest |
Hi Graham,
There is no simple formula for the circumference of an ellipse. There is however an approximation that you can find in our response to an earlier question. In the expression on this page a and b are the lengths of the semi-axes so in your case a = 20 ft and b = 12.5 ft.
