Question from kim, a student:

A home security device has ten buttons and is disarmed by pushing three buttons in sequence. How many three button codes are possible if each button can be pushed more than once in the code?

Kim,

The answer is the same as the total number of three-digit numbers (digits are 0 to 9) possible.

How many three-digit numbers are possible (leading zeros are allowed)?

Stephen.
