Question from lavon, a student:

I'm having trouble figuring out a linear equation, can you help?

- 3x + 2y = 8
  3x + 2y = 8

Hi Lavon,

If you add the two equations you will arrive at one equation in the single variable y. Solve this equation for y and then substitute this value for y back into either of the given equations and solve for x. Once you have values for x and y substitute into both equations to verify that your solution is correct.
