Question from priya, a student: Utkarsh bought 20 dining tables for Rs 120000 and sold these at a profit equal to the S.P of 4 dining tables.Find the S.P of one dining table.(give the answer in statements) |
Hello Priya.
Let x = the selling price of one table.
Let p = the profit earned from selling all the tables.
Then p = 20x - 120000 and p = 4x.
If p = 4x, we can substitute 4x in for p in the first equation:
4x = 20x - 120000.
Solve for x.
