Question from Tina, a parent:

What shape would an 0.68 acre parcel have to be, if you were going to make is as straight as possible?

Tina,

There are 43560 square feet in an acre so 0.68 acres is 0.68 times 43560 = 29620.8 square feet.

Your parcel of land might be a square with area 29620.8 sq feet. The side dimension would be
√29620.8 = 172.1 feet. But it need not be square. It could be 200 feet long and then the width would need to be 29620.8/200 = 148.1 feet. In fact the parcel could be any rectangle a feet by b feet as long as
a times b = 2962.08.
