Subject: Volume I need to convert cubic yards to square feet. I have topsoil that is $34.30 a cubic yard and I need to know what the price is in square feet. The depth is 18". |

3 3 = 27 cubic feet in a cubic yard. Thus the topsoil costs
$34.30/27 = $1.27 per cubic foot.
Since the depth is 18 inches (1.5 feet) a "block" of soil that is 1 foot by 1 foot on the surface is

Thus to cover a region to a depth of 18 inches will cost
$1.27
