Question from Wendy, a parent:

please help i don't know how to explain this to my son.
if a right rectangular prism volume is 36cubic cm how can i find the base and height.

Hi Wendy,

A right rectangular prism is a "box" and its volume is the length times the width times the height. You have a volume of 36 cubic centimeters so if you if you find any three positive numbers which have a product of 36 then these three numbers could be the length, width and height. For example 2, 9 and 2 or 6, 3 and 2 or 1, 1 and 36.

I hope this helps,
Penny
