A race track is shaped like an inverted cone. Race cars drive around this track in a horizontal path. If a drivers speed is 34 m/s, at what distance from the tip of the cone should he drive his car if there is no friction?

THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR ANY ASSISTANCE YOU CAN PROVIDE!

Sincerely,
William

Hi William.

There is a useful discussion of the physics involved in this situation on the Hyperphysics web site here:

http://hyperphysics.phy-astr.gsu.edu/hbase/mechanics/carbank.html

If you need help with the mathematical computations, please write back to us with the formulas you are using and we'd be happy to assist you.
