Question from Wilson, a student:

Do you know of any odd number that has 12 factors? Reply back today.
Because I have hand in a project tomorrow.

Hi Wilson.

Q. What happens if you multiply an odd number by an odd number?
A. You get an odd number.

If you multiply an even times an odd or two even you get an even number the number you are looking for must be the product of odd primes.

Let's make your problem easier.

Do you know of any odd number that has 2 factors?

3 is an answer since the factors of 3 are 1 and 3.

Do you know of any odd number that has 3 factors?

What about 3 x 5 = 15? This has 4 factors, 1, 3, 5 and 15. So what about 3 x 3 = 32 = 9? This works since the factors are 1, 3 and 9.

Do you know of any odd number that has 4 factors?

Stephen La Rocque and Harley Weston.
