b=brackets  so do (2+3) first
e=exponents  none in this question
d=division  do from left to right, and at the same time as multiplication
m=multiplication  do from left to right, and at the same time as division; so next do (2)x(5)/4
and 4x(?), where ?=2+3
a=addition  do from left to right, and at the same time as subtraction
s=subtraction  do from left to right, and at the same time as addition
8+(2)(5)/4(1)4(2+3)
=8+(2)x(5)/4(1)4(1)
=8+(10)/4(1)4x(1)
=8+2.5(1)4
=10.5(1)4
=10.5+14
=11.54
=7.5
Or, if using fractions rather than decimals:
8+(2)(5)/4(1)4(2+3)
=8+(2)x(5)/4(1)4(1)
=8+(10)/4(1)4x(1)
=8+5/2(1)4
=16/2 + 5/2  (1)  4
=21/2  (1)  4
=21/2 + 1  4
