Subject: PERCENTS AND RATIOS At a company fish fry 1/2 in attendance are employees. Employees' spouses are 1/3 of the attendance. What is the percentage of the people in attendance who are not employees or employee spouses? |
Hello.
First, you have to assume that no couples work for the company, otherwise you don't know enough information to answer the question.
To solve the problem, start with all the attendees (100% of them). Subtract half (50%), then subtract one third (33.3%). What is left?
