how many yards of dirt would it take to raise 1 acre 200 feet?

Hi Larry,

One acre is 43560 square feet and there are 3 feet in a yard, so one acre is 43560/9 = 4840 square yards. A depth of 200 feet is 200/3 yards so to raise one acre 200 feet would take

4840 200/3 = 322667 cubic yards of dirt.

When I have ordered top soil it has come on a truck that carries 20 yards. To raise an acre 200 feet would take this truck more than 16,000 trips!
