If the area of one pentagon is eighty-one times the area of another pentagon, how do the perimeters of the two pentagons compare? Thank you for your help.

Hi Robert,

I assume that you mean a regular pentagon.

Here is an easier question.

If the area of one square is eighty-one times the area of another square, how do the perimeters of the two squares compare?

What about this one?

If the area of one equilateral triangle is eighty-one times the area of another equilateral triangle, how do the perimeters of the two equilateral triangles compare?

I used similar triangles for this question.

Now can you solve the original problem?
