Subject: 8th Algebra
Name: Sarah
Who are you: Student

i need to know how to solve this problem can you help me?

(2x)^4 (1/2x^3)^2

Sarah,

You didn't tell us the instructions but I expect that you are to simplify this expression. I am going to use a different expression.

Simplify (3 x2)3 (2/3 x3)4

First notice that

(3 x2)3 = (3 x2)(3 x2)(3 x2) = 3 x 3 x 3 times x2 times x2 times x2 = 33 (x2)3 = 33 x6

Likewise

(2/3 x3)4 = (2/3)4 (x3)4 = 24/34 x12

Thus

(3 x2)3 (2/3 x3)4 = 33 times x6 times 24/34 times x12 = 24/3 x18

I hope this helps,
Penny
