Question from Katrina, a student:

What is the formula to finding the surface area of a triangular prism?

To find the surface area of any polyhedron (cube, prism, etc) just add the area of the faces.

A triangular prism has 2 triangular faces and 3 rectangular faces.  If the triangular faces are the same size and so are the rectangular, the total surface area will just be 2x(area of triangle) + 3x(area of rectangle).

Hope this helps!
Gabriel
