Question from abdulai, a student:

a circular saw with diameter 18.4cm rotates at 2400rpm. What is the angular speed of a point on the edge of the saw blade in radians per second?

Abdulai,

If the saw rotates 2400 revolutions per minute that's 2400/60 = 40 revolutions per second. Each revolution is 2 π radians so the angular speed is 2 × π × 40 radians per second.
