Question from Angie:

I need to know what the footage is to find 8.1 acres knowing that the North boundary is 1309'

Angie,

The area of a plot of land, regardless if you express it in acres or square feet depends on the dimensions and the shape. I am going to assume the shape is a rectangle. If it's not a rectangle then my calculations will be meaningless.

One acre is 43560 square feet to 8.1 acres is 8.1 × 43560 = 348480 square feet.

The area of a rectangle is the length times the width so if your land has length 1309 feet and width W feet then

1309 × W = 348480

and thus W = 348480/1309 = 266.22 feet.

I hope this helps,
Penny
