Question from annna, a student:

i already got the answer for what is the prime factorization of 648 which is 2x2x2x3x3x3x3
but how do i write that answer in exponential form?

Hi Annna,

Exponential form is a more compact way to write something like 5 × 5 × 5. We write it 5 × 5 × 5 = 53. Thus for example the prime factorization of 144 is 2 × 2 × 2 × 2 × 3 × 3 or in exponential form 24 × 32.

I hope this helps,
Penny
