Question from Becky, a parent:

the area of a rectangular lot is represented by 6t^2+13t-5. What are the length and the width of the rectangular lot?

Becky,

This is a bazaar problem as you are not told what t is. I think you are expected to factor 6t2 + 13t - 5 to get

6t2 + 13t - 5 = (at + b)(ct + d)

for some numbers a, b, c and d and the say that the rectangle is (at + b) units by (ct + d).
