Question from Carli, a student:

what is 300% as a fraction

Carli,

300% is 300 "per cent" which means 300 "per hundred". And "per hundred" means "over a hundred". So 300% is the same as the fraction 300/100. Cancel the zeros and you find 3/1, which is just 3. So 300% is just 3.

Stephen.
