Question from davontay, a teacher:

9(d+5)=3(d-3)+6d

Davontay,

Are you sure you have written this equation correctly? Simplified the equation becomes

9(d + 5) = 3(d - 3) + 6d
9d + 45 = 3d - 9 + 6d
9d + 45 = 9d - 9

Subtracting 9d from each side gives

45 = -9

This is impossible so the conclusion is that there is no number d so that 9(d+5)=3(d-3)+6d.
