Question from dawn, a parent: Need help. Estimate the quotient. Tell what compatible numbers you used. 817divided by 4 = |
Hi Dawn,
What I see is that 817 = 800 + 17. Also 4 divides 800 and 4 divides 16 so 4 divides 800 + 16 = 816. Thus
817 ÷ 4 is approximately (800 + 16) ÷ 4 which is 200 + 4 = 204.
