Hi Dom.
It appears that you are dealing with mass distribution.
Since 100 centimeters = 1 meter, if we square both sides of this equation, we get 1002 cm2 = 12 m2, so a square meter is 10 000 square centimeters.
Thus, 175 grams per square meter is 175 grams per 10 000 square centimeters, which reduces to 0.0175 g/cm2.
